Hello Blog! I have seriously neglected this little space of the web over the past few months, but the good news is - I've finished my degree!! Out into the very scary world now :)
Here's some pictures of my collection from Catwalking.com -
It was inspired by the Riot Grrl movement and is made from a mixture of silk, latex and (well-sourced!) leather. I doubt I've worked harder in my life than I have in the past few months, but amazingly it has just inspired me to start up my own label - so watch this space! My initial plan is to get a job which will pay the bills and work hard on my Etsy again, I would also like to do a masters degree. There are so many things I want to do but now I'm going to relax for a few days before I make a plan!

Concept 1
This is a little overview of my first concept for my final collection. It started off as a fairytale inspired, romantic, soft, feminine concept with a little Jane Austen twist with Edwardian corsets. Then I decided I wanted to use latex, bright pink and yellow latex leggings to be precise! That got me on to thinking more about latex and it's usual connotations of being 'fetish wear', I did a bit of research and found some really cutesy, gorgeous latex outfits on Etsy - check out the Treasury I made. All the latex/fetish stuff led me on to 'obsession', a little bit on serial killers, that came back round to 'love' and how it could easily lead to dangerous 'obsession' which can bring out the worst in people. So it has turned into a bit of a dangerous, dark, love story concept :) I'm loving it more and more!
I've got loads of samples, as well as awesome latex samples, that I need to get around to photographing so I can get them blogged!

So Glad That's Over!
I have a pile of work that's roughly the same height as me. A 5ft 3" pile of work. For some reason I thought once we were back from work placement I had 3 things to do - a presentation, one project and help the 3 years with their final collections. Instead there's - a presentation, a diary (to be bound), a report (to be bound), a project, a manifesto project (which has turned into making a film), a dissertation class, PPD, random other classes thrown in for fun, and helping the 3rd years.
It's crazy.
Today was presentation day, mine was about my work placement at ASOS which is an awesome thing to talk about...but to a room full of people? No thanks. Okay, so it was 7 people in the end. This presentation has also caused me to miss the ASOS Press Day which I'm so gutted about as they've been emailing me for a week asking me to come back (it's always nice to feel wanted!) but my timetable is so full.
Anyway - presentations - they always seem so much worse before you do them, then once it's done, there's the adrenaline rush, the sudden boost in confidence and the big question - "why was I so stressed out over that?"
I'm saving this post for the next time I have a presentation and I have a meltdown.
